What you need to know about me:
I’m from 1967 and wear hearing aids since I was about 17 years old. In the begining, I struggeled with these hearing aids and thought that I „didn’t need“ those. As I started my study, my mind took over from the heart and I started with an In-the canal- hearing aid on one side. When years later, my doktor told me, why not wearing a hearing aid on my other side, because it was almost as bad as my other ear, I knew I couldn’t hide it any longer.
In 2007 my hearing got worse and I needed a Behind-the ear hearing aid, because the small ones weren’t sufficient any longer.
I can only use the telefone with my best ear now. And I also use additional technology for the phone and television.
Though my hearing loss is difficult sometimes, yet I try to make the best of it. Thanks to a loving husband, understanding family, collegues and insightful courses, I manage quite well.
I hope, by sharing my experiences, I can show others that despite hearing loss you can get far in life and that life is worthwhile living.
What you don’t need to know about me, I won’t share here!
